Southeast Asia Trade Mission and Western Products Showcase

On Wednesday, September 12, a group of U.S. exporters together with representatives from Western United States Agricultural Trade Association (WUSATA) will be visiting Thailand to meet with the Thai importers, food manufacturers and related food trade contacts. U.S. companies participated in this trade mission are Wilbur Packing Company, JK Products International, Inc., Commercial Creamery Co. Ltd., and Fresca Mexican Foods Inc.

Food Ingredients Show 2007

The upcoming Food Ingredients (Fi) Asia 2007 on September 26-28, 2007 in Bangkok, Thailand, will include a variety of American organizations including Decas Cranberry, Ocean Spray, U.S. Dairy Export Council, as well as various companies represented by the Western United Stated Agricultural Trade Association located in the USA Pavilion. In addition, the United States Potato Board and Corn Products International will be exhibiting near the USA Pavilion.

"U.S. Meat, Turkey, and Wine Products Educational Seminar"

The coming "Wine Pairing with U.S. Beef and Turkey" seminar will be held on September 17 & 18, 2007 at the Shangri-la Hotel, Bangkok. FAS/Bangkok along with the U.S. Meat Export Federation (USMEF) and the USA Poultry and Eggs Export Council (USPEEC) have organized this seminar, which will include a presentation from Mr. Lim Hwee Peng, Wine Journalist, as well as cooking and food pairing demonstrations from USMEF and USAPEEC. FAS/Bangkok would like to thank the Ambrose Wine Company, Italthai Company, Vanich Wathana Company, Independent Wine & Spirit Company, Canpac Beverage Company and Diethelm Company for their wine contributions.

FAS/Bangkok Conducts Meat Regulatory and Trade Workshop

On October 3, FAS/Bangkok hosted a regulatory and trade workshop focusing U.S. meat products with nearly 40 regulators, veterinarians and food scientists from the relevant Thai agencies. Mr. Patrick Clerkin from The Cavan Advantage Inc., provided an overview of U.S. animal health and food control systems affecting beef exports as well as the current trade partner requirements for U.S. beef.

FAS/Bangkok Organizes USA Fruits & Wines Pavilion at Siam Paragon

On October 5-7, the American Chamber of Commerce Thailand and the U.S. Embassy co-sponsored the "Buy U.S.A. Fair" at Siam Paragon in Bangkok. This year’s fair brought in over 25,000 visitors, more than double last year’s attendance. The USA Fruits & Wines Pavilion included Ambrose Wine, Canpac Beverages, City Fresh Fruit, Super Fresh Import Export, V&K Inter Group, and the Wine & Spirit Trading
